Hi everyone,
I'm interested in hearing about other people's plans for travelling to/arriving in Taibei. When are people arriving, where are they staying for temporary housing, etc. Are people planning on acquiring housing before arriving, or after?
We could be using this board to coordinate housing or meetups before the official orientation, and to discuss strategies for housing.
I'll contact the office and see if it is possible to send out a reminder/link to this forum to the current students.

hey christina- I have interim housing for the first 3 weeks of sept. from a former ICLP student while I look for my own apartment, a roommate would be nice to bring rent down a little, if you know of anyone.
I arrive in taibei early on august 31st.

Hi all--
My name is Andrew, I'm a recent college grad from the U.S., and I will also be studying at ICLP starting this September. I'll be arriving pretty late (around September 14th). For the first week or so, I'll be staying with family (my folks are originally from Taiwan). Unless I can find some solid leads over the internet before then, I'm really crossing my fingers that I'll be able to find and secure decent housing during that first week or two. I don't know how widely used this message board will be amongst ICLP students, but some coordination vis-a-vis housing searching/room-mates would be fantastic.

Hello All! How is everyone doing? Hopefully excited about the up coming year long program?? =P My name is Jenny. I've been here since late June (taking a summer class). I currently live off the brown line at (Lin Guang) MRT station. I live literally next to a mountain/park which has great hike trails. I live in a very common older style Taiwanese building on the 6th floor with NO elevators! I pay 9500NT plus utilities a month. I have my own bathroom, AC, fridge, bed, sm. desk, tv, closet etc. Personally I like the neighborhood I live in bc it's quite except for the cicada's outside my window that never sleep, but hey, I did say I lived next to a park! I have to say...having an elevator and a kitchen would have been fabulous! But hey...I'm only living here until December, so I might as well just enjoy it for what it is. I found this place online at www.tealit.com.tw I suggest for you those of you who still need to find a place to look there. You can look specifically for a studio or room to rent with roommates etc. My cell # here in Taiwan is 0981-038-739. Email: pjtasoulinh@gmail.com Give me a call or email me if you guys have questions. I don't claim to know everything about Taiwan (for it is my first time here too) but I most definately will try my best to help you out.

Hi everyone, My name is Jenn, and I'm also going to be studying at ICLP this year. I'm already in Taipei, and have only just stumbled upon this message board. I went to school in NYC and graduated this year. I'm down for meeting up before classes begin . Btw, does anyone know the scheduling for the placement tests?
