Hey, I've been thinking lately it would help speed up the learning process a little to have some Chinese-language music to listen to in my spare time (such as it is), so I can try to puzzle out lyrics while riding on the MRT or the like. I've done that with Spanish in the past and it really helped a lot, and I found a lot of really good, enjoyable music, too.
But I know basically nothing about modern Chinese-language music, so I've been wondering if anyone has any suggestions or favorite artists or radio stations to share. I guess anything using relatively simple, easy-to-understand words would be best, but my tastes are pretty broad and I like to explore new things. So I thought I'd just kind of leave it open, what kinds of Chinese music do you all like to listen to or would you recommend?

We just chatted about this offline, but if anyone else is curious, the cpop group Carly mentioned is a great place to start. I hadn't thought to look for videos on Youtube (duh), but I found some links to some through the cpop group, and of course they have the ka la ok style song lyrics scrolling across the screen, so helpful. I will listen to some Wang Lee-Hom, but I think I might not be able to appreciate his wonderfulness in all the ways that Carly does.
